What's a Hearing Screening?

Executive Hearing Aids is a licensed hearing aid dispenser serving the Westchester, New York area for over 20 years. We serve both adult and pediatric populations. We offer free hearing screenings. You can have a hearing screening at any age and most newborns are screened in the hospital. A hearing screening is a quick and easy test that measures how well you hear different sounds. The hearing screening is a PASS-FAIL test. If you PASS,  you generally do not need to do anything else. If you FAIL, additional testing is recommended to see if you have hearing loss, and to measure the extent of that loss.

What is an Audiogram Hearing Test?

The audiogram is a painless non-invasive test performed in our Yonkers NY offices. It shows the type and degree of your hearing loss. An audiogram test will determine how loud sounds need to be at different frequencies for you to hear them clearly. The test evaluates whether hearing aids could improve your hearing and thus your quality of life. The audiogram is conducted in our quiet and sanitized soundproof booth. Earphones will be placed on your head. The earphones are connected to diagnostic equipment that will deliver various tones and sounds. We will ask you to raise your hand when you hear a sound. The end result is formal test results that may be used to fit hearing aids.
